ShakeLight Privacy Policy
Effective: October 16, 2026
ShakeLight is an Android flashlight app made by Neekore LLC ("we"). It turns your phone's camera flash on or off,
either with a shake gesture or by tapping a button in the app.
Data collection
ShakeLight does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data or usage data of
any kind. The app has no internet permission, so it cannot send information anywhere, to us
or to anyone else. It has no accounts, no ads, and no analytics.
What the app uses on your phone, and why
- Camera flash: to turn the flashlight on and off and set its brightness.
ShakeLight never opens the camera and does not have the camera permission; it only controls
the flash unit.
- Motion sensor (accelerometer): to notice a deliberate shake. Readings are
processed in memory on your phone, as they arrive, and are never saved or sent anywhere.
- Notifications: to show the status notification Android requires while
"Shake anywhere" (background listening) is on.
- Run in the background, keep the processor awake, and start after a restart:
so a shake still works with the screen off or the app closed while "Shake anywhere" is on.
You can turn this off in the app or with the notification's Stop button.
- Battery optimization exemption request: ShakeLight may ask Android to let
it keep listening while the phone is idle. You can decline.
- Vibration: a short tick when the light is switched on or off.
The only things ShakeLight remembers are its own settings (the brightness level, the shake
sensitivity, and whether "Shake anywhere" is on), stored on your phone. Uninstalling the app
removes them.
Third parties
ShakeLight contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking code.
Children's privacy
ShakeLight does not collect information from anyone, including children.
